The imposing Glenfields care home was built as an officer’s residence at the old RAF Driffield air base. The modern facilities including a sizeable lounge for activities and relaxation. A courtyard provides residents with the opportunity to sit outside and tend to the plants and one of the main attractions of the home is the vast back garden, where residents enjoy sitting and walking. On fine days the garden is the perfect venue for our Strawberry Fayre and other celebrations.

Glenfields is home to 28 residents and our team look after them like one big family. They form a close attachment with all the residents and know immediately if they need something or are unhappy about anything.

The location of Glenfields is a particular attraction for residents and their families. It sits a short drive from the centre of Driffield in a very quiet area but with good road links to the rest of East Yorkshire. It is ideal for days out to enjoy coast and countryside and to visit the Driffield Showground, which hosts numerous big events nearby.

Many of the residents at Glenfields are elderly people who came to live with us because they struggled to cope at home on their own. They include people whose first visit to us was for respite care. When the time came to find somewhere for long term care, they and their families chose Glenfields.
