Growing Together

About this provider

Growing Together is a Social Enterprise providing a Day Service for adults and young people age 16 plus based in Crawley. We provide a programme of therapeutic horticulture, life skills and supported work experience.

We felt strongly that people with learning disabilities and mental ill health should be fully involved and valued members of their local community. Growing Together has set about making this happen by providing a community setting that offers supported work experience and training giving people the skills to become more independent and gain employment.

Our aim is to provide genuine supported employment for people with disabilities in the work place. We will achieve this by re-investing profits to develop smaller social businesses providing future market-waged employment.

Our Social and Therapeutic Garden Group is involved in a range of activities and associated arts and crafts. There is an opportunity to plant and grow a range of organic fruits and vegetables. Giving people the chance to care for their own plants provides a sense of ownership, purpose and achievement.

Our staff work closely with each individual to adapt the learning and therapeutic sessions to their specific needs. Each individual will have an initial assessment that will enable us build a measurable plan of achievable goals.
