We help people with learning disabilities in Brighton & Hove and West Sussex gain independence, obtain housing, find employment & join our activities.

Our approach The way in which this support has been delivered has changed over the years, sometimes quite fundamentally. These changes have taken place so that the charity has remained 'fit for purpose'. However one thread that has been maintained during those 114 years has been the belief that people with learning disabilities can and should play a role in society. In today's words 'an equal citizen fulfilling the duties and reaping the rewards of that citizenship'.

When we look at today's society and in particular what has happened in learning disability services over the last 15 years, there have been many changes. Valuing People (2001) and Valuing People Now (2009) are two documents that outline very clearly where people with learning disabilities and their organisations sit in the communities in which they live. We at Grace Eyre are committed to doing our bit to implement Valuing People.
