Information, advice and support that the council provide on housing can be found on the Council website this includes

  • housing options
  • advice on looking for an affordable home
  • support if you are at risk of losing your home
  • homelessness
  • vulnerable adults service
  • improving energy efficiency

The Wakefield Housing Advice Team offer advice and advocacy on housing and housing related problems, including dealing with:

  • Tenancy problems
  • Disrepair
  • Harassment and unlawful eviction
  • Mortgage and rent arrears
  • Entitlement to benefits.

Shelter gives practical housing advice and support online, in person and by phone. If you need advice contact Shelter on 0808 800 4444

Citizens Advice Bureau offer housing advice online. On this website you can find information about how to go about renting or buying a home or just finding somewhere to live. You can also find advice on handling problems with your landlord and help to avoid losing your home.
