The Bridgewood Trust

About this provider

Bridgewood Trust is a service built around individuals. It is a registered charity providing residential and day services, domiciliary support and short stay/respite care for people with learning disabilities. We are registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

We are a service built around you. You are unique, there is no one in the world the same as you, and that is where we begin. We will work with you to build up a person-centred plan which will help us to understand your needs, wants, goals and aspirations. Over time, as your lifestyle and experiences grow, your person-centred plan will change with you, so it always reflects how far you have come and what you want for your future.

All our service users have learning disabilities; some have additional needs due to physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health or dementia issues. Our service users are aged 18 and over.

Bridgewood aims to offer choice, great support and to provide the general public with a positive image of learning disabilities. We hope to achieve this by respecting the differing strengths of our service users and meeting their individual needs and preferences in a caring, supportive and professional manner. All service users have regular reviews to which their families and friends are invited. These reviews ensure that the service users are central to the planning of their support services.

Bridgewood Trust is a good organisation to work for, they offer staff a variety of key and more specialist training courses. The staff and management work well as a team and are innovative. Working together in a way which allows the needs of service users to be met, in a person centred way, Offering varying levels of support for setting goals and fulfilling any interests and activities the service users wish to do. The individuality is evident throughout the different homes in the Trust, with their own unique and inviting atmosphere.

Support Officer, Well Royd House

I value the way Bridgewood cares. At the heart of everything is the individual – their well-being. A team of like-minded people, making a difference, fulfilling and enabling lives. What we do, how we do it; getting it right matters.

Debbie Moorhouse
Support Officer, Mountjoy

I like to go shopping, bowling and for a meal.

I like the staff and love my bedroom because it has all my own things in it. I like going out during the day and the evening and also like it because my sister comes to take me out. I like the dinners as I get to choose what I want.
