East London Cares

About this provider

East London Cares is a community organisation that tackles loneliness by bringing older (65+) and younger people together to share time, laughter, friendship and new experiences. As well as our free weekly Social Clubs which bring together groups of younger and older neighbours together for fun and interesting activities, we also have our Love Your Neighbour programme, which matches an older and younger neighbour in east London for regular, friendly weekly visits.
This means that those older people in east London who are less able to go out and about, or who have perhaps lost some social connections over the years, can feel re-connected to their local community through friendship, chatter, and laughter. East London Cares also offers practical support to older neighbours, signposting to local services and help with shopping, prescription deliveries, housing and financial issues. We also aim to tackle the digital divide by supporting neighbours to get online.
