Halfway is a registered charity providing practical and emotional support to people who have experienced mental health problems, to enable them to establish an independent life. We work in partnership with the local health trusts, local authority, housing associations and other independent sector providers.

Community Action Halfway Home provides practical and emotional support to people with mental health problems to enable them to improve the quality of their lives.

Halfway was established in 1975 by a group of students from Sheffield University. These students felt there was a need for a 'halfway house' for people moving out of Middlewood long stay mental health hospital. Much has changed in the intervening years. The organisation provides a range of services for over 100 people with mental health needs in Sheffield. We deliver a high quality service (IIP, QAF, PQASSO).
