Poppy cottage was founded in 2010 by the proprietor Jacqueline Smith, she holds a leadership and management award in health and social care.

Poppy cottage was opened as a residential care home in 2010. In 2012 Poppy House supported living was opened, in 2014 poppy lodge was purpose built and designed for wheelchair users.

Poppy Place is under contraction and details will follow. Jacqueline is looking to expand the business with more purpose built homes.

Jacqueline works along side her 2 daughters whom both hold a leadership and management award in social care.

As a family business Poppy cottage has grown to become a leading provider of health and social care services. With various homes our aim is the same: to help people live more independent and fulfilling life. We provide practical 24 hour support which allows our service users to feel secure as well as lead an independent life enabling them to access as many opportunities as possible. We support service users with everything from personal care, through to meal preparation, to assistance with managing their finances and correspondence. In addition we help our physically disabled service users to lead an active social life, assisting with travel to and participation in their preferred activities.

Our support plans are built to accommodate not just the assessed needs of the service user, but also their preferences and aspirations. By identifying each individual's goals, we build a care plan which focuses on achieving the specific outcomes a service user needs to live their desired lifestyle. This person-centred approach gives our service users more choice and control over when and how they access the support they needs.
