What is Careline?

Careline (also known as telecare or lifeline) is an easy to use way of calling for help should you feel unwell or have an accident or fall when you are at home. Should you need help and be unable to get to the phone by simply pressing a button one of our highly trained operators will be able to talk to you and make sure you get the help you need. Chichester Careline, the only local authority run alarm service provider in West Sussex, operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year and is there to help you live independently in your own home. There are a wide range of sensors that can be linked to you Careline unit for a small additional cost and one of our advisors can decide with you which sensors would be best for your needs.

Who is Careline for?

The service is for people of any age or ability. You may be a carer – young or old; live alone and feel vulnerable; have a disability; have recently been discharged from hospital; or maybe just feel the need for a little bit of extra support. Chichester Careline will be there for you.

If you do not live in the Chichester area do not worry because your own local authority can provide you with an alarm unit which will be monitored by us at Chichester so you can still benefit from our high quality monitoring service. Chichester Careline has close links with all of the District and Borough Councils in West Sussex so if you would like an alarm call us on 0800 032 1129 and we will pass your details to your local alarm provider.

13 week free trial period

If you or someone you know lives in Chichester District Council area and you think you may benefit from our service you can have a free trial period of 13 weeks so you can see if it is right for you. If at the end of the 13 weeks you decide the service is not for you then we will come and collect the alarm unit and you will have nothing to pay.

How much will I have to pay?

After the 13 week free trial period the alarm unit and pendant cost as little as 54p per day with:

  • No installation charge
  • No set up fee
  • No hidden charges
  • No additional visit charges
  • Free maintenance for as long as you have the service*

*Free maintenance is only available to our customers who continue to pay the monthly rental charge and does not apply to failure or breakages caused by wilful damage or neglect.

What do I get for my money? (What is included?)

We will visit you in your home at no extra cost and decide on the most suitable solution to meet your needs. The basic package consists of an alarm unit, connected to an electrical power point and a telephone socket and one pendant which can be worn around the neck or the wrist; you get a 24/7 monitoring service provided by Chichester Careline with highly trained operators who will get the most appropriate help for your situation; we will advise your family of any emergency situation you may call us for unless you decide otherwise.
